Ballet
is the foundation of all dance forms. Body placement, flexibility, balance, alignment, strength, and technique are all achieved though barre work, and center work.  [Dress code:  Ages 3-6- Any color leotard and tights, pink ballet shoes, hair pulled off face.  Ages 7 and up- black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair pulled back, preferably in a bun.]

Tap develops rhythm and sound coordination skills in an upbeat class. Incorporating classic and rhythm tap styles.  [Dress code:  Any color leotard, any color tights, black tap shoes, hair pulled off face, dance pants or shorts may be worn over leotard.]

Combination classes (ages 3-7)
[Dress code:  Any color leotard and tights, skirts may also be worn, black tap shoes, pink leather ballet shoes, and black jazz shoes required, hair up and off face, no jewelry.]

Tumbling (beginner)
Teaches basic stretches and tumbling in a 30 minute class. This class does not participate in the recital. a leotard needs to be worn to class, no tights required. If you want to wear tights they must be footless

Lyrical dance is a fusion of ballet and jazz dance techniques. Lyrical uses motion to interpret music and express emotion. A lyrical dancer’s movements attempt to show the meaning of the music. Moreover a dancer must be well aware of facial expressions, essentially acting, to properly perform a lyrical dance piece.  [Dress code:  Any color leotard, any color tights, black jazz shoes or jazz booties, hair pulled back off face, shorts may be worn over the leotard.]

Modern is a term used to describe contemporary dance. Modern dance centers on a dancer's own interpretations instead of structured steps, as a traditional ballet dancing. A modern dancer rejects the classical ballet stance of an upright body postition, often opting for deliberate falls to the floor.[ Dress code: Any color leotard, any color footless tights, shorts may be worn, no shoes (barefoot)] 


Jaz
z is a fun filled class focused on improving technique, strength, and flexibility, which will enhance student’s jumps, turns and stage performance  [Dress code:  Any color leotard, any color tights, black jazz shoes or jazz booties, hair pulled back off face, shorts may be worn over the leotard.]

Hip Hop features energetic and rhythmical movements. This class is great fun, as you can perform the most current moves while enjoying your favorite music.  [Dress code:  Loose fitting clothing, no jeans or skirts, jazz shoes or sneaker that have NOT been worn outside.]

Rules & Policies

Turning Pointe Dance Center Studio Rules


• All students must be in proper dress code in order to participate in class
Absolutely NO parents are allowed in the dance room, doors will be shut if necessary
• There is a non refundable $15 registration fee/ per student to enroll in fall classes. There is no registration fee for the summer session.
All tuition is due by the 15th of the month, after the 15th a $15 late fee will apply. An additional $15 late fee will be added every month until past due tuition is paid in full
• There is a $30 fee for all returned checks
A 10% discount will be given for 2 or more family members enrolled in classes
Tuition paid for up front for the entire year (September thru June) will be discounted by 10%. But if you quit at any point there will be NO refunds
No Gum is allowed in class
Hair must be pulled back, buns are strongly recommended for ballet class
NO street shoes are to be worn in the dance room, sneakers worn for fitness and hip hop classes cannot be worn outside
NO dance shoes should be worn outside
